Privacy statement
SUVA understands that privacy is an important issue for individuals. SUVA believes that due respect for individual privacy not only protects an important right of the individual but is also important in the development of relationships with its members, suppliers and clients.
SUVA aims to enhance the level of trust in these relationships by:
- Complying with the letter of privacy law, including the National Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000;
- Complying with the spirit of privacy law and wherever possible adopting the approach that maximises the privacy of personal information.
- Continuing to comply with all other privacy related obligations, such as those contained in other legislation and obligations of confidentiality.
SUVA is a non-profit organisation. Its role is to create business and market opportunities to members by offering a range of services and benefits. These include networking opportunities, publication of the Guide and a website. These activities from time to time may necessitate the disclosure of a member’s name and business contact details.
SUVA will not collect personal information unless it is necessary for our activities and functions. Generally the only information we will collect is an individual’s name, job title, company address, telephone and facsimile numbers and email address.
Members have the right to access to any personal information held about them by SUVA.
It is SUVA’s policy to ensure that any personal information collected is as accurate as possible. SUVA will respond promptly to any request for correction of data that is inaccurate.
