Home of the Royal Australian Historical Society, History House is the perfect location for functions, business meetings, dinners, receptions, book launches, lectures, seminars and workshops. Located in Macquarie Street, History House is close to public transport and parking stations and overlooks the beautiful Botanic Gardens.

History House offers a well-equipped auditorium and two interconnecting Victorian reception rooms, complete with grand piano, fireplaces, chandeliers, prints and period furniture. History House can accommodate 50 people seated in the auditorium and 60 people (standing) with limited seating in the combined reception rooms. There is also a kitchen located adjacent.

Much of the beauty of the house lies in its fine timberwork. The staircase is of cedar as are the doors and door cases with carved mahogany detailing. History House was the last in a row of quality Victorian town houses to be built on the west side of Macquarie Street, between Bridge and Bent Streets.
